Gladiator
The Movie
Review
Although there is a five year gap between both films, these were the two of my
choice at that time and although Gibson did not win an Oscar for his acting
performance I still think that he should have. All in all I still personally think that
it
is neck and neck as they both play excellent acting roles.
I think Gibson’s direction was brilliant, although the direction of a legend like
Ridley Scott would be somewhat of a task even for Gibson’s talents as he did
also
watch Scott’s epic Spartacus to gain some ideas of his own as I learnt from
the documentary included with Braveheart.
I found the beginning of Gladiator brilliant where the first battle with the Germania
rebels just started and the archers start their scene and the commencing battle was overwhelming.
My best moment of Braveheart was the first major battle against the British and
where William Wallace’s idea of spears to tackle the horse charge worked a
treat
giving the under rated Scottish rebels a victory.
I would say that I like them both and that I do not really think that one or the other
is
better just certain scenes differ, but both get my top rating. |
